For this assignment we
had the opportunity to expose ourselves to different genres of writing by exploring literature through reading a great variety
of children books. This was an incredibly joyful experience for me and has helped to make me a more well-rounded reader, as
well as more familiar with books to recommend to young readers. Below is a list of some of the books with a synopsis that
I was able to experience this semester.
Fantasy (21)
L. Frank Baum:
The Wonderful

A little boy, Tip, escapes from his evil guardian, the witch Mombi, with the
help of Jack Pumpkinhead who was
brought to life with the magic Powder of Life, as well
as a living Sawhorse . Tip ends

ruler of Oz, and is changed back into a girl, and ascends the throne of Oz.
